Adherence to these standards is not necessary, but will keep the cost per 1000 pieces as low as possible.
Thread Information
Mohawk can install optional threaded holes (up to two) in your metal stampings. Below are some helpful charts & information related to common tapped hole sizes produced by Mohawk:
Percent of Thread
We recommend the use of “Pressure” or “Cold Formed” threads as opposed to “Cut” threads whenever possible. This eliminates the problems associated with chip removal from the finished parts and provides greater “strip out” torque strength.
The normal “Percent of Thread” that can be expected from the thread form process is 65% to 75%.
